To backup date use the menu selection "File/Backup Database". It backs up "SCIndex.scd", the email database, to the "backup" folder, and gives it the name "SCIndex1.scd".
Two copies can be copied are backed up and are given the names "SCIndex1.scd", "SCIndex2.scd", where "SCIndex1.scd" is the most recently backed up.
If you created a "clone" with the SCUtility, you can find the folder where the clone resides by right clicking on the clone Desktop icon, and selecting "Properties" from the context menu. Then, in the box you will see an entry labeled "start in", this gives you the directory where the clone is, i.e. its data is. You know it's a clone by the "comments" section of the icon, which should read "SpamSquash Email Filter Clone", which you can also see when you mouse over the icon and a tooltips message pops up.
You can also manually back up your white list and black list by copying "wlist.bin" and "blist.bin" to another folder.
If you ever have the need to use a backup database or a backup of white or black lists, (lists must have been manually backed up) then exit SpamSquash and copy the files over to the folder where SpamSquash.exe is or a clone is, depending upon what you backed up. Make sure they have the right names: i.e. "SCIndex.scd" for the database,"wlist.bin" for the white list and "blist.bin" for the black list.
